Dear Brian,
I write to express my thanks to Pierre for his assistance with solving the problems encountered with my recently acquired 2006 Nissan X Trail. The vehicle was purchased from a National car sales company which specialises in the disposal of leased vehicles. The vehicle turned out to have a problem with the overdrive randomly locking in on the automatic transmission, and an oil leak which appeared from the rear main engine seal after a week of running. I initially came to Mainstreet for an assessment of the automatic transmission overdrive problem, then went back to the car sales firm for remedy under the Consumer Guarantee provision of the purchase agreement. While I asked for the repair work to be carried out by Mainstreet the car sales firm insisted that the work be undertaken by the local Nissan agency. The work was duly done but I would like to express my genuine thanks to Pierre (and your company) for his initial assessment of the problem, and his giving some guidance to the Nissan staff member with whom he communicated.
I was glad to be able to subsequently put the X Trail into your workshop for the automatic transmission to be serviced, following the repairs by the Nissan agency. Please also note Yvette was always helpful and patient with my enquiries - a real asset on the reception desk.

Well what can I say, I bought my SABB (a not so ordinary car) and said to the boys and of course the front desk ladies, 'my car will not budge from 1st gear, it will go into reverse but i am not that good a driver to be able to reverse everywhere, can you fix it please'.
'Yes, we can take a look', was the reply.
So off I took in a very smart courtesy car and waited patiently for my beloved SABB to come home to me, all better and well.
The team at Mainstreet kept me informed all the way, and what joy it was when I was told all was well and I could have my car home again.

"I have been bringing my vehicles to Brian for 35 odd years. I brought work to him when he first started up Mainstreet Transmissions in Victoria St in 1980. Brian and his team have always been very obliging in every aspect. Back in the late 70's and into the early 80's I had taxi's and Mainstreet would give great service. If I broke down on a Saturday the taxi would be ready on the Monday. When I had my Holden 202, Brian always had a very quick turnaround. I'm now retired, but still bring by car to him for servicing."

On purchasing our Nissan Civilian Motorhome in 2003, we discovered a fault in the gearbox. This was checked on 3 or 4 occasions and the problem remained unfixed. The advice was given to just carry on a usual as it's not doing any harm. Needless to say, we got sick of this on-going problem and on the spur of the moment, while travelling through Hamilton, we read an advert on Mainstreet Transmissions. We decided to pop in and see if they could help us. Boy did they!
We received fantastic service - very polite, very thorough and we were even given a courtesy car so we could return to the Hawke Bay while our motorhome was being fixed. This was muchly appreciated and valued by us.

We are writing to say a 'big thank you' for the recent transaxle work you and your team performed on our little Mazda 121 car.
I had been researching for this job for a while, with plenty of advice from everyone! However, it was a telephone call to Mainstreet Transmissions that was the eventual deciding factor. A kindly gentleman from South Africa greatly impressed me with his courteous telephone manner and especially his knowledge of our particular vehicle and its gearbox weakness. He was able to immediately describe what would be needed and provide an accurate estimate of the time needed for the job and the anticipated cost.
I drove the vehicle in and all work as planned went ahead. We received an early telephone call as promised to confirm the extent of the work required and the cost, so we knew exactly what we were in for. This was greatly appreciated along with the unexpected free use of a courtesy vehicle while our 'baby' was on the operating table.
Since then, is almost seems we have a new car, such is the difference in the sound and general feel of the vehicle.
